Yi Ding, CPA

Yi Ding’s expertise in tax planning was shaped by years of experience working with complex financial situations. Starting his career at Goldman Sachs, Yi specialized in preparing tax returns for ultra-high-net-worth clients, handling intricate areas such as Schedule K-1s, foreign income, and multi-state reporting. He also represented clients before the IRS and state tax authorities as their Power of Attorney. In 2023, he joined Walled Lake Planning & Wealth Management, where he now leads the tax strategy services. 

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Yi enjoys spending time outdoors and giving back to his community. He serves as a River Steward for the Lake County Forest Preserves, helping to maintain and improve the Des Plaines River. When he’s not kayaking or working on river conservation efforts, Yi can often be found on the basketball court (where he recently made 20 three-pointers out of 23 attempts) or expanding his collection of sports cards. He has a particular interest in cards featuring international NBA players, especially Chinese and Asian American athletes. Yi is also fluent in Mandarin and Korean.
